The battle between the Cat and Dog

Once there was a dog named Flett and a cat named soft kitty paws! They were in a intense battle because Flett hated cats and especially Soft Kitty Paws. But then Flett came up with a plan that he would fling soft kitty paws over the fence by holding her tail and swinging her around and that would make her exceptionally dizzy. The next day he did his marvelous plan to get the cats away especially Soft Kitty Paws. So the next day he called out to Soft Kitty Paws  [but it would be in dog talk of course] “Miss Soft Kitty paws come to my house, I have got something for you.”

So the next day Miss Soft Kitty Paws went to Flett's house. "What do you want?" 
"I want to do this!" He got Soft Kitty Paws tail in his mouth and started swinging her around and round and round until he let go and she went flying.

Olympic Creed/ Oath

At the start of each Olympics, every athlete promises to play fairly and obey all of the Olympic rules. One athlete from the host country takes the oath at the opening ceremony on behalf of all athletes.

Here is the Olympic Oath. It was written by Baron de Coubertin. 


"In the name of all competitors, I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules that govern them, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honor of our teams."

On behalf of Room 20 Parkvale School, I think all of the competitors should compete in all events that are scheduled, in the Room 20 Olympics, they all show the Olympic Values and all show sportsmanship if they win or lose.

Lone Robot

Dear long lost Mum and Dad,
I always have missed you.
Today I was walking in the forest jumping on leaves like you would do on lilypads. When I saw this smoke that was rising into the air. I was wondering what it was so I ran towards the smoke. There it was the smoke, a huge train running along the tracks, going into the middle of nowhere! I jumped on about the 5th carriage of the train and closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Next thing I know I was off the train and was sleeping on the ground ( So unrespectful ) I woke up to a huge fright. So I got up, stood right in front of the building. Then I found at it was a factory. I carefully went inside, there was these big machines. They were known as forklifts. They nearly ran me over. I went in because the sticker I had on was matching to the one they had on their building. Factory I mean.

Next I had to make a huge decision where to go in the factory to find you, Mum and Dad. I was missing you every minute and getting even more scared. Then I was so wound up how big this place was I left. I ripped off my tag and went back into the forest. Yes I didn't look for you I just left. I hope you can find me. I mean Please find me.

The Woman Black sticks Team
 Samantha Harrison (Sam for short) is 20 years of age, Sam started playing hockey aged 5, Then started playing for the Woman Black Sticks Hockey team in 2009 with the Argentina and China Series. Sam is a nightmare to mark thanks to her talent on then ball. Samantha is a dynamo who can play anywhere in the midfield or up the front.  Her most admired sports person is Roger Federer. Sam also has a older sister Charlotte Harrison aged 22.She plays in the position the same as her sister.  

Sun rise hut

On the  1 of July me my family and the Ralphs family went to Sunrise hut. It is on the  Ruahine rangers . It was a 3 hour walk up the top. and 2 and a half hours  down .It was very steep. There was heaps of snow. Also when we were there it was snowing/sleeting . It was also very misty. We did snow ball fights. There was also a helicopter pad and a frozen pond that we went ice-skating on it.   Here are some photos!
